Why Do We Ask for Payment Details

Last updated on Apr 09, 2024

We ask for a credit/debit card upon signup to help solve two problems:

  • Spam prevention

  • Identity verification

While we do ask for your card details, we don't charge you when you signup. You are only charged after your trial ends and we send you an email reminder before your trial ends. Furthermore, you can cancel your subscription at any time from your profile page.

Now that you know the basic reasons, let's explain each in detail.

Spam Prevention

A global website like ours gets a lot of spam and unwanted traffic that is hard to prevent without asking for payment information. Our payment processor, Stripe, is used to handle processing your card details and checking if it is valid. We do not store or process your payment details.

Identity Verification

A name and an email address are not enough to verify someone's identity. A payment method such as a credit/debit card is the main method to verify an identity for online software products like ours.

Why do we need to verify identities?

As a product in the healthcare industry, we are required by various compliance laws to show proof of steps taken to secure our systems and help prevent spam and false identity accounts.

Do we store your payment details?

No. We don't store your payment information. We use a payment processor called Stripe which handles storing your card details and processing payments.
