Are you looking for nutritional information on specific ingredients? you've come to the right place.

To get started, click on the Food Databases tab and start typing the name of the ingredient or food you're looking for. By default, we search all food databases apart from the US food database. For example, searching coconut oil shows the following results:

Once you find the item you're looking for, you can click it to view its nutrition data.

You can adjust the serving size and the nutrition data will be re-calculated automatically.

Our search engine is extremely fast, results will appear almost instantly, and result items are highlighted to make it easier to find what you're looking for along with the source database the food/ingredient comes from.

Searching the US Food Database

To search for US-specific foods and ingredients, select the United States food database from the list and start typing. For example, searching for Apple Pie shows the following results:

Available Databases

We currently support the following national databases: NZ (last updated on 1st of July 2019), AU, US, and UK food composition databases. We also support the following Whole Foods supermarket databases: The Source Bulk (AU), Optifast (NZ), GoodFor (NZ), and Ceres Organics (NZ). More databases will be added based on request.

Database Source

We only use the food and ingredients databases provided by the Ministry of health of each country. We don't use outsourced data from unknown sources. We only use data provided by trusted authorities such as the Ministry of Health. We are continuously looking to add more databases to our product. Let us know if you have any suggestions.

Measurements and Accuracy

Nutrition information is based on 100g/ml editable portions. This is the standard measurement for all foods in the databases we will be adding in the future as well.

Some foods or ingredients may only have a gram measurement while others may have volume-based measurements as well such as cups and tablespoons.

Item-based measurements such as a medium-sized egg, broccoli bunch, asparagus spears, and others are provided for some items depending on the nutrition database selected. We try our best to provide the most accurate measurements provided by the nutrition databases specified in the Database Source section.

We do not estimate measurements at all and only provide what we get from the database sources.
